Iran and Azerbaijan Held a Joint Video Conference on COVID-19
Following the arrangements made by Iranian Embassy in Baku and collaboration of International Relations Office of Iranian Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education (MOHME), this joint video conference was held on 5 August, 2020.
Dr. Viktor Gasimov (Deputy Minister of Health), Dr. Nazifa Mursalova (Head of Public Health and Hygiene-Epidemiological Control Department), Prof. Hagigat Gadirova (Director of Scientific Research Institute of Lung Diseases), and Dr. Samir Abdullayev (Head of International Cooperation and Public Affairs Department) from Azerbaijan participated in this video conference.
Also, Dr. Mohsen Asadi Lari (Director of International Relations Office of MOHME), as the representative of MOHME, along with Dr. Somi (Chancellor), Dr. Taghizadieh (Vice Chancellor for Education), Dr. Rajaei (Vice Chancellor for Treatment), and Dr. Khayatzadeh (Head of Non-communicable Diseases Department) from Tabriz University of Medical Sciences (TUOMS) attended this conference.
The main objectives of this video conference included:
1. Updating the latest situation of COVID-19 in Iran and Azerbaijan
2. Sharing experience on COVID-19 containment: public health measures (measures in borders and protocols), diagnostic algorithms, and case management
3. Potentials for collaboration in the area of COVID: diagnostics, treatment, medicines, technology and vaccines.
