A Memorandum of Understanding, focusing on primary health services signed between Oxford International Development Group (OIDg) from the U.S.  and Tabriz University of Medical Sciences (TUoMS) in 2021.

A Memorandum of Understanding, focusing on primary health services signed between Oxford International Development Group (OIDg) from the U.S.  and Tabriz University of Medical Sciences (TUoMS) in 2021. The memorandum was signed by chancellor of TUoMS Dr. Somi and managing director of OIDG, Dr. James Miller.
They agreed to collaborate on the followings:
- To conduct research contrasting and comparing the response to the Covid-19 pandemic in rural areas of Iran and rural areas in the Mississippi Delta and Western states in the U.S.;
- To develop policy recommendations for both Iranian and the U.S. public health agencies for the enhancement of monitoring and response to future pandemics;
- To develop policy recommendations and proposal regarding strategies to increase efficiency and effectiveness of primary care service; and,
- To develop bi-lateral exchange programs for public health experts and primary care from physicians from Tabriz university of medical sciences and selected American public health experts and primary care physicians.
