Honorary Doctorate Degree was Conferred upon Professor Liselotte Mettler

An "Honorary Doctorate Degree" was conferred upon Professor Liselotte Mettler from Kiel School of Gynecological Endoscopy on 15 April, 2015. The degree ceremony was held at the Chancellor's Conference Hall where a number of TUOMS high-ranking authorities and academic members attended it.

In this event Professor Mohammad Hossein Somi, The Chancellor, gave some brief information about Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and thanked Professor Mettler for all her collaborations with the University during the past 20 years. He also requested the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology to plan an elaborate program for further collaborations with Professor Mettler and take the best advantage of her knowledge and experience.

Then Professor Mohammad Reza Rashidi, The Vice Chancellor for Research, talked about Professor Mettler's research activities and expressed the tendency of his corresponding office to boost up the ties regarding scientific projects with her. He also provided some information about the ancient university of Rab-e-Rashidi and paid tribute to Professor Reza Parvaresh, Professor Mettler's deceased husband, for his previous collaborations with TUOMS.

Afterwards, Dr. Farzadi, head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology delivered her speech and introduced the audience to some previous projects, workshops and activities that Professor Mettler had run in association with TUOMS since 1995.

Finally, Professor Mettler took the stage and thanked the Chancellor and all the attendees for their kind regards and welcoming. In her lecture, Professor Mettler introduced the Kiel University and reported some of the earlier ties with TUOMS during the past years. She also expressed her gratitude for the degree and mentioned some of her proposed activities for future.
