Dr. Manouchehr SeyediVafaee, Assoc. Prof. of Neuroscience and Pharmacology

from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, held a

7-day workshop at TUOMS. The workshop started on 27 July, 2014 and the

following courses were covered during the days of the workshop:

 

1. Application of medical imaging modalities in neurology, neurosurgery and

oncology with emphasis on SPECT, PET, MRI, DTI.

 2. Coupling of blood flow and metabolism in healthy and neurological disease. Is

there a role for lactate?

 3. Can carbogen expand the survival window in stroke? Can we learn from the

brain in stroke research?

 4. Is Alzheimer´s disease a flow-metabolism coupling disease? Is amyloid cascade

hypothesis still valid?

 5. Parkinson´s disease and deep brain stimulation.

 6. Introduction to scientific editing and writing for graduate students.

 7. Workshop on principles and application of SPECT and PET (may be should be

postponed).
