Dr. Kafaie from Saint Louis University Visited Neurology Department of TUOMS

Dr. Jafar Kafaie, associate professor of neuromusclar medicine from the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry at Saint Louis University, visited the educational group of neurosurgical diseases at Imam Reza Hospital on 27 June, 2015. In this visit Dr. Kafaie also met the chancellor of the university and expressed his willingness to boost scientific ties with Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Moreover, Dr. Somi asked for the exchange of academic members and holding scientific workshops for the students, residents and neurosurgeons of TUOMS.

Dr. Kafaie is a member of the American Association of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He treats adults and children with neurological, neuromuscular and muscle diseases (muscular dystrophy, inflammatory myositis). He cares for patients with neuromuscular junction disorder, peripheral neuropathy, and motor neuron diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease) and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA).
