A team of managers and experts from World Health Organization (WHO) along with the officials of Iran's Health Ministry visited Tabriz University of Medical Sciences (TUOMS) on 7 September, 2014. The aim of this visit was to evaluate the medical service quality provided by the vice chancellor for health.
In this event Dr. Tabrizi (TUOMS Vice Chancellor for Health), Dr. Mohammad Asaei (WHO Integrated Service Coordinator), Dr. Kazemini (Director of Management Center of Iranian Health Ministry) and Dr. Lataef (WHO Technician of Medical Care) visited 2 health complexes, Child Development Center and National Public-health Management Center (NPMC) of TUOMS.
After the visit, Dr. Asaei expressed his full satisfaction with the services given to the patients at health complexes of East Azerbaijan province and asked for more endeavor to develop the service level. He finally claimed that if the system of health complexes works properly and the needed criteria are gained thoroughly, it can be expanded not only across Iran but also Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO) of WHO.
Later, Dr. Kazemini stated the importance of such programs as Health System Transformation for Iranian Health Ministry and appreciated the role of TUOMS Vice Chancellor for Health in improving the service.
Finally, Dr. Lataef evaluated the quality of health and treatment services at health complexes as persuasive and emphasized that this new program can make a quite big change in the health system of the country.
