The Ark, one of the oldest and largest ancient buildings in Tabriz was built by Tajeddin Shah Jilani, minister of Sultan Abou Saeed of the Ilkanid Dynasty. Its construction finished in the year 724 Hegira by Ali Shah’s successors. It was used as an ammunition depot during the Qajar period, the Constitutional Revolution and Tabriz conflict, thus called the Ark (Citadel).

Constitution House
The Constitution House, located next to the Tabriz Grand Bazaar, was constructed in 1868 by Haj Vali Me’mar-e Tabrizi. During the years which led to the Constitutional Revolution and afterwards, the house was used as a gathering place for leaders, activists, and the sympathizers of the movement. The Constitution House contains a most beautiful skylight and a corridor decorated with stained glass and mirrors.
Blue Mosque
Blue Mosque or Masjid-e Kabud, known as the Turquoise of Islam, is a 15th-century structure destroyed partially by one of Tabriz's recurrent earthquakes. The entrance portal, with its two minarets, appears to have been connected with the main prayer hall (Shabestan) under the largest cupola of the mosque, by means of a vaulted corridor.
On both sides along the corridor, there stand the remains of the chambers with vaulted roofs. The walls of the mosque have been riveted with marble slabs and decorated with mosaic tiles.

El Goli
This popular family recreation area contains beautiful fountains, lush gardens, a theme park, restaurants, picnic areas, summer camping facilities and lake with boating activities. It is a popular weekend resort for locals and a must see for tourists!
Azarbaijan Museum
The Azarbaijan Museum opened in 1962 and is located on Khomeinie Ave (next to the Kabud Mosque). With an area of 300 square meters, it consists of three main halls in which historical articles such as costumes of various tribes of Iran and works of renowned calligraphers can be viewed. Also on display are a vast collection of pictures, tracts, declarations, documents, and personal articles of the leaders of the Constitutional Revolution.
The Tabriz Bazaar
Strolling through the center of Tabriz one cannot miss the 15th-century covered bazaar. Architectural style, numerous caravansaries, mosques, and schools have added further beauty and glory to this complex.

Exact information on the history and origin of the bazaar is not available; however, historical buildings such as the Jam’s Mosque, Talebieh School, and Sadeqieh School indicate that the complex is one of the oldest structures in the city.
The present structure of bazaar dates back to the closing years of the Zand dynasty (1750-1779AD). The complex has high brick domes and arches and includes several small bazaars, or bazaarches, each for a specific guild or craft. Carpet making is the main trade, but Tabriz is also renowned for its silverware and jewelry.
Within a short driving distance of Tabriz there are many beautiful, interesting, and entertaining sights to visit such as Kandovan Village, Payam Ski Run, Urmieh Salt Lake, and St. Stepanous Church to name but a few.
